Early Years

I am very lucky to have been working at Boxgrove for over 10 years now- it really is a great place to be! Throughout my time at Boxgrove, I have taught in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. I love to read stories and I enjoy being creative! Outdoor learning is a passion of mine and I can’t wait to visit Forest School with you!

I have been teaching for over twenty years now and have taught different year groups throughout that time. My passion is to develop creative thinking in the classroom and Reception is the perfect place to start! I love Boxgrove and proudly fly the flag for Art and Design across the school.

I joined Boxgrove in 2018 and had the pleasure of working across the school. I am looking forward to working in Reception again this September. One of my favourite things about Early Years is learning outside where I really enjoy being creative while surrounded by nature. Reading and Art are my favourite subjects. Who doesn’t love stories and glitter?

I have been working at Boxgrove for 3 years, originally as the Nurture Manager. I have since trained to become a teacher and am very excited to have my own class in September. I love working at Boxgrove and can’t wait to meet my new class. I love getting creative, laughing and making learning fun.

I am very lucky to have been working at Boxgrove for 12 years now and taught children from Reception to Year 6! Teaching in Reception really has my heart though. I love nothing more than reading funny stories, learning new things and laughing with the children in my class! I can’t wait to meet you all and have lots of fun with our learning.

This year will be my third at Boxgrove and I am excited to be based in Year 1 again. I am looking forward to introducing more outdoor learning opportunities for the children and spending time in nature. Outside of school I enjoy running ultra marathons and listening to music.

I have worked at Boxgrove since 2010 and have spent this time working in KS1. I started as a Teaching Assistant and went on to train to become a teacher.  I have worked in Reception, Year 1 and 2. I really enjoy working in Year 1 as I love the awesome topics and school trips. I love reading stories and my favourite topics to teach are History and Phonics. In my spare time I like to go for walks with my dog Ted.

This is my first year teaching at Boxgrove, and I am so incredibly excited to embark on this wonderful, new adventure! I enjoy reading stories, teaching maths, and having lots of fun whilst learning. I am a huge lover of all sports, swimming especially, and I cannot wait to see how you all do in future sporting events. I am looking forward to meeting you all!

Year 2

I’ve been teaching at Boxgrove since January 2021 and absolutely love my job and being part of the Boxgrove family. From a young age, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher and feel privileged that I get to spend my days working with such fantastic children and staff.  I have taught at many primary schools in Surrey over the last 20 years and always enjoy getting to know the children and making sure that they are the best they can be. I’m really looking forward to another Year in Year 2 as we have such exciting topics and visits planned. I’m also looking forward to taking on the role of Year group leader as I love a new challenge. Outside of school, you’ll find me looking after my children and traveling the world with my family at every opportunity.

Having just finished my teacher training at university, I am very excited to be returning to Guildford after growing up here and am especially looking forward to joining Boxgrove as a teacher. My journey to becoming a teacher started here in 2017 on my Year 11 work experience where I fell in love with the profession! I love all sports from badminton to boxing and also enjoy spending my time doing art and photography. I am really looking forward to starting in September and becoming part of the Boxgrove community.

I have worked at Boxgrove since 2019, having previously worked on the Isle of Wight and in Hove. I adore working here, especially in my role as curriculum lead which involves working with everyone in all the year groups. If you don’t find me in my classroom teaching, then you may find me up at the allotment battling with the weeds and pigeons.

Having been a school parent for a few years I was so pleased to join Boxgrove as a part time teacher in Feb 2021. In the past I’ve taught languages in both secondary and primary schools. I love the many varied and fun personalities of the children I teach and hearing about their interests and hobbies outside of school.  Teaching can be hard work but there is absolutely never a dull moment!  At home I’m mum to three and busy with church kids’ work. When I have time I love baking, playing the piano, seeing friends and traveling.

Year 3

I have been teaching at Boxgrove for three years. I love teaching in Year 3 with Mrs O’Sullivan! I am looking forward to another fun year in Year 3 with all the exciting units of work. Art, English and History are my favourite subjects to teach. I love being creative and seeing the children grow and develop in their first year in KS2!

This will be my 21st year at Boxgrove! I love teaching all the creative subjects as well as dancing with the class. I enjoy working with Mrs Hind because together we have lots of fun ideas for lessons. I enjoy making the classroom colourful by showing all the exciting activities we do together with photos and the children’s work.

I joined Boxgrove in 2012 in Reception! I then taught in Year 5 for six years and I am currently in my third year in Year 3. I love working with children of all ages and in my role as Key Stage 2 Phase Leader I get to support and help many of our children across the school. My passions are sport, history, geography and making learning fun!

I’ve been a teacher for 13 years in Cape Town, South Africa before arriving in 2021 at Boxgrove Primary as a parent. I have two daughters (11 and 15). I took on a TA role to familiarize myself a little more with the English curriculum. Since then, I have taught in Reception, Year 1 and tutored Years 2 and 3. I am moving back to Y3 to teach and am very much looking forward to another year at Boxgrove Primary.

I am very lucky to have taught in year 2 at Boxgrove for 4 years where I have enjoyed sharing my love of sports, reading and the great outdoors! I am very excited to start a new chapter in key stage 2 where I will be teaching in year 4. My favourite thing about being a teacher is getting to spend my days laughing and learning with the children at Boxgrove!

This will be my 7th year in Boxgrove, I have worked in Years 3,4,5,6 and spent time in Reception. This year was my first as a qualified teacher and I can’t wait to see what next year has in store! I am a big fan of sport and have really enjoyed coaching the school football team.

Year 5

I have been working at Boxgrove for 13 years now and this is my 8th year of teaching.  I love working in Year 5 with the amazing staff members and the exciting topics that we cover. For me, this is the best year in school! I really enjoy the challenge that the new cohort brings each year following the mix-up of Year 4 classes and to see new friendships blossom.

I joined Boxgrove in 2020 having completed my teacher training with a placement taking place in Year 1 at Boxgrove. I have been based in upper Key Stage 2, having taught in Year 5 & 6.. My favourite subjects are history and geography. I enjoy my sports in particular rugby and enjoy challenging myself with obstacle runs.

I have been working at Boxgrove since January 2022 and was delighted when asked if I would become a permanent member of the Year 5 team.  I have taught in a variety of schools and Boxgrove is, without a doubt, one of the most friendly and welcoming communities. I’m really looking forward to the year ahead and hoping that I can inspire my class to fly higher and achieve things that they thought weren’t possible.

I’ve been working in Boxgrove since January 2021. Before arriving here, I spent time teaching in lots of different schools – from a small rural school in Ireland, to a busy inner city school in London (and almost everything in between!). Despite arriving in the middle of a lockdown, I could not have been made to feel more welcome. I love working in such a friendly inclusive school environment with positive happy children. When I’m not at school I love cooking (and eating!), gardening, swimming, walking and chasing after my two children.

Year 6

I joined the teaching team here eight years ago but first joined the Boxgrove community as a parent in 2010. This will be my fourth year in Year 6, and I really enjoy seeing the children at the top of the school taking on extra roles and responsibilities as young leaders. I am passionate about the positive power of sport in children’s lives and am always looking for opportunities to widen participation in physical activities for all our children. I love running, reading, baking and generally being active outdoors with my family and dog.

I joined Boxgrove in 2018 so this will be my fifth year already! I started in Year 5 for my first two years and now work in Year 6. I most enjoy history, having previously worked at Hampton Court as a food historian and ghost tour guide, but also have a keen interest in geography. I’ve been lucky enough to travel a great deal, including driving to Mongolia, in order to donate a van to a Primary school and cycling to Portugal, to raise money for charity.

I have been at Boxgrove for over 10 years. I like the challenge of maths, sports and photography…so be prepared to smile lots as I document our time together! This year I am taking on a number of roles. As well as teaching one day a week in Year 6 I will also be supporting children within small groups or on a 1:1 basis.

I started in Year 4 in January 2014, quickly moved to Year 2 and from there I taught in Year 3 for 4 years, so I am thrilled to be returning now to Year 4.  Everything has changed, so it will be exciting to discover all the new topics together. I love finding the perfect book so come and talk to me about what you are searching for!

I have been with Boxgrove for 7 years and I spent a number of those years in Year One. Since returning from having my two children I have had the opportunity to work in every other year group. I feel very lucky to have met or taught so many! After a lovely stint in Year 5 this Year I will be having fun down in Early Years, Year One and Year Two. My passions are long walks, hockey, crafting and reading. There is nothing I love more than seeing a child find pride in what they have achieved and finding the thing that makes them buzz!

Walking my young dog, Twizzle and playing ball with her in the garden gives me an enormous boost of joy. When I play the piano, write letters, watch birds or practise yoga, I feel happy and calm. I love working with children. I love to see the spark when you figure something out for yourselves and I like it when you work together and offer each other help. Reading is a great pleasure of mine and in the holidays my head can often be found buried in a book.

I have only worked at Boxgrove for a term so far, after a 10 year break from teaching  to have my three children, all of whom have been through or are at Boxgrove. I am very much looking forward to working with Year 1 (Tuesday afternoon) and Reception (Wednesday afternoon).
